Introduction to the Institute of Evidence Law, Institute of Criminal Law Sciences, Beijing Normal University

The Institute of Evidence Law is a specialized research institute under the Institute of Criminal Legal Sciences of Beijing Normal University. The Institute of Evidence Law is one of the earliest in-school teaching and research institutions established by the Academy of Criminal Sciences of Beijing Normal University. The Institute of Evidence Law and the Institute of Criminal Procedure Law are independent of each other, but also intersect, complement and cooperate with each other, and jointly undertake various tasks of the Academy of Criminal Justice in the fields of criminal procedure law and juvenile law. According to the development goals and discipline planning of the Academy of Criminal Sciences, the Institute of Evidence Law is mainly responsible for the personnel training, teaching settings, academic research, academic conferences, academic lectures, project projects, decision-making consultation, social services, cooperation and exchanges of the Academy of Criminal Sciences in the field of criminal evidence law. The Institute of Evidence Law currently has five full-time teachers and five part-time teachers in the institute. Since its establishment, the Institute of Evidence Law has undertaken more than ten scientific research projects at or above the provincial and ministerial levels such as the National Social Science Fund, the Ministry of Education, and the Ministry of Justice. It has published "Criminal Evidence Law","Quantitative Analysis of Criminal Evidence" and "Oral Evidence in Criminal Proceedings: Procedures and Rules", and published more than 100 papers in CSSCI core journals. In accordance with the development goals of the Chinese Academy of Criminal Sciences with distinctive characteristics, first-class domestic and world-renowned characteristics, the Institute of Evidence Law will highlight the research characteristics of criminal evidence law, keep up with the trend of the times and the frontiers of disciplines, strengthen empirical research and cross-disciplinary research, and continuously improve science. Research capabilities, adhere to the high-quality and high-end line, and strive to become an important think tank in the field of domestic criminal evidence law research.
