Office of International Exchanges and Cooperation, School of Law, Beijing Normal University (PNI Office)



The International Exchange and Cooperation Center was established in August 2015. It is a specialized institution established by the Academy of Criminal Sciences to promote internationalization. It relies on the Office of the Academy of Criminal Sciences to carry out specific work.

Since its establishment in August 2005, the Academy of Penal Sciences has clearly regarded internationalization as one of its development goals. As of August 2015, the Academy of Criminal Sciences has cooperated with the United Nations Criminal Justice and Crime Prevention Justice Network, the Executive Directorate of the Counter-Terrorism Committee of the United Nations Security Council, the United Nations Asia and Far East Institute for Crime Prevention and Offenders, the International Alliance of Anti-Corruption Academies and other United Nations agencies, the International Association of Criminal Law, the Max Planck Society Institute of Foreign and International Criminal Law of Germany, the Korean Institute of Criminal Policy, the Oxford University Criminology Research Center, More than 50 well-known foreign academic institutions, including the Institute of Criminal Law and Criminology of the University of Vienna in Austria, have established formal cooperative relations. In order to organize foreign-related academic activities in an orderly and effective manner and enhance the international influence of the Academy of Criminal Sciences, the Academy of Criminal Sciences decided to establish an international exchange and cooperation center on the occasion of its 10th anniversary.

Since its establishment, the International Exchange and Cooperation Center has contacted and organized teachers and students of the Academy of Criminal Sciences to participate in regular meetings organized by United Nations agencies, the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption and the special meetings organized by the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime. More than 30 high-level international conferences, including meetings, have led to the Academy of Criminal Sciences to establish formal cooperative relations with many foreign academic institutions such as the University of Queensland Law School of Australia and the Griffith University School of Criminology. It co-organized summer schools with overseas universities and was responsible for organizing and receiving more than 50 foreign guests including the Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations.
